MacroView Excel Addin:

The Macroview Excel Add In is an incredibly valuable tool in my line of work. Downloading process data directly into Excel allows me to look at an unlimited combination of data, side by side, and directly compare manufacture run data from different points in time. I need a unique set of tags with each new investigation and the ease with which I can change dates and add data to an existing query allows me to build on my data rather than having to start over again.
I work with one minute time intervals which provides excellent resolution for process trouble shooting and allows for rugged statistical analysis of process trial data. Secondary calculations of process data can be performed in seconds to tease out the root cause of a problem. This is incredibly valuable in a 24 h production environment where answers are needed straight away.
Prior to having Excel Add In, process data analysis involved manually recording data sets from Macroview and transferring it into Excel to work with. This was tedious, prone to transcription errors and so time consuming that rugged data analysis was just not practical (or possible over long periods of time). It took me days to collect data over a one hour manufacture period! Now it literally takes me minutes to collate the data I need and with the level of detail that I work with, there is just no way I could do it without Excel Add In.
Macroview Excell Add In has allowed us to investigate to a level of detail that we have not worked with before and we have made incredible advances in our understanding by having such a tool to work with.
